Global Call for the Official Visual Identity of MUST International Youth Film Festival

I. Background

The 2026 MUST International Youth Film Festival (MIYFF) launches an open global call for its official visual identity. Established in 2022, MUST is dedicated to fostering an open, inclusive and innovative global competition for cross-media imaging, advancing the integrated innovation of digital technologies and visual creation, and focusing on the media culture and visual expression of the young generation.

II. Design Requirements

1.Key Elements

  • Entries must include the English abbreviation “MUST”, the full Chinese title “MUST 國際青年電影節”, and the full English title “MUST International Youth Film Festival (MIYFF)”.

  • Not limited to incorporating elements such as film strips, camera apertures or digital pixels

  • It is recommended to incorporate Macao landmarks, elements of Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST), or AI-inspired technological lines to highlight regional and thematic identity.

2.Design Specifications

  • Color: The primary color palette should not exceed three colors.  Designers may draw inspiration from the color palette of the Macau University of Science and Technology logo.

  • Typography: Standardized Chinese and English logotype designs must be provided, ensuring bilingual visual consistency and compliance with copyright requirements.

  • Adaptability: Both horizontal and vertical versions must be submitted, along with a simplified monochrome version, to ensure suitability for various online and offline applications.

3.Originality

  • Plagiarism is strictly prohibited.

III. Submission Requirements

1.File Formats

  • Vector files (AI/PSD) and high-definition images (PNG/JPG, 300 dpi).

  • Animated logo submissions must include an alpha channel and be provided in MP4 or GIF format (duration ≤ 10 seconds).

2.Submission Materials

  • One design artwork (including a standard grid layout)

  • One official Film Festival laurel design (including a standard grid layout)

  • One animated logo source file

  • Creative rationale, color codes and typography specifications

  • Declaration of originality

  • Proof of identity

  • Author’s biography and contact details

3.Submission Period

  • From 00:00 on 25 April 2026 to 23:59 on 8 June 2026 (UTC+8)

  • All submissions will be time-stamped based on the time of receipt

4.Submission Method

  • Please submit your entry via email to the official address: myff@must.edu.mo, with the subject line formatted as: “MUST Visual Identity Submission + Author’s Name.”

IV. Judging and Awards

1.Judging Criteria

  • Thematic Relevance (20%) | Creativity (30%) | Visual Expressions (50%)

2.Awards

  • Winner (1 awardee): MOP 5,000

  • Excellence Awards (2 awardees): MOP 2,000 each

3.Announcement of Results

  • The results will be announced on the official social media platforms of the Film Festival in late June 2026.  (Official WeChat account: AF MUST)

V. Copyright Statement

1.The copyright and related proprietary rights of all award-winning works shall be vested in the organizer, while the author shall retain the right of attribution.

2.All non-selected works shall remain the property of their respective authors.
