The Second MACA Award of Screenplays
Guidelines
I. Purpose
This competition intends to encourage students to learn more about life and use their works to express love and other positive ideas, which will help promote the development of literary composition on campus. In the meantime, MACA can explore MUST screenplay talents and promote the all-round development of local film industry.
II. Eligibility
Current MUST students and alumni members
* At most 2 can be accepted to co-author a script and each person can submit at most 2 scripts
III. Requirements
1. All submissions should be about a same theme: love. All kinds of love can be talked about, such as that you enjoy from the country, the society, schools, family members, friends, sweethearts or public benefits.
2. All submissions should be in Traditional Chinese and in Gothic, font-size 12, word limit: 5,000-10,000
3. All submissions should include the Curriculum Vitae (CV) of the author(s) and an abstract at the end.
4. All submissions should be original and have never been used in any previous contests before. No plagiarism.
5. Any submission with illegal or unethical content will be disqualified, under which condition entrants should take full responsibility.
IV. Dates
1. Application
September 5th - October 31st, 2016.
Please fill up the application form in J213 in person during office hour.
2. Submission
September 5th, 2016- March 1st, 2017
Please submit softcopies (Word and PDF format [one for each]) of the final script to J213 in person during office hour.
3. Judgment and awards presentation
Preliminary Stage: until March 15th, 2017. Top 20 will be chosen.
Shortlist Stage: until April 1st, 2017. Final winners will be decided.
Awards presentation: April, 2017.
V. Awards (one winner for each award)
Champion: one certificate of merit, one trophy and a prize of MOP 10,000
Runner-up: one certificate of merit, one trophy and a prize of MOP 8,000
Second runner-up: one certificate of merit, one trophy and a prize of MOP 5,000
VI. Judgment
1. Film professionals will be invited as judges.
2. During judgment, the plot, language, creativity and structure of all submissions will be considered.
